First Half Marathon Summer 2010

Well it's all over!  I had my half-marathon race today, and it was so much fun!  Last night Erik, his parents, and I went up to Sacramento, so I would be a little closer (the race was along the American River in Sacramento).  My parents watched the boys in Stockton, I feel like I keep abandoning them!
The hotel we stayed in was really nice--too bad we couldn't enjoy it more!  I got all carbo-loaded up at the Olive Garden, we took a trial drive to the race to make sure we knew how to get there, and then we went to bed.
I seriously love the atmosphere of races.  Everyone is so positive and encouraging!
Waiting to get started.   The race was delayed about 20 minutes or so.  Just enough time to need another bathroom break after I crossed the start line-- oh well!
Great picture right? :)  Only 13.09 miles to go!
Only 1/4 mile to go!  The course was a blast.  There were lots of encouraging posters, supporters, and there was a live band every few miles!

Jackson was so very excited to play in the bounce house!

What a blessed girl I am!  I couldn't believe all the support I had.  Erin and James, who are coming here for the summer stopped in Sacramento on their drive-through-the-night trip-- so sweet.  Bob and Janet came all the way from Livermore and stayed with us last night.  My parents watched the kids and drove them up.  And last, but not least Erik watched the boys on many a morning, so I could train.  It really did make a difference on my run too!  My goal was to run the whole thing, and I reached that goal, so I'm happy.  I'm not sure what my time was I think it was around 2:10, but I won't know for sure until it's posted (2:08:19).
