Run Janney Run Half Marathon August 2012
Let's see on the Friday evening in Livermore, we had a BBQ at Kelsey's. We ate yummy lasagna so we could carbo-load for our half the next morning :)
Kelsey had put together this swag bag with custom made racing shirts. So cute!
The next morning we were up and off at 6:00am. (love the early morning bags under my eyes, don't you?)
Janet and Kelsey had put together a really nice 13.1 mile route in Livermore. There were nice roads to run in, and beautiful horse trials among the vineyards.
Part of what made our race so special was the red carpet treatment we got from Robert and the Hunts. They set up mobile aid stations every few miles, complete with your choice of Gatorade or water. Oh and Kleenex which was great for my last few days of the cold I had :)

pretty course, right?
Our course finished at a park where everyone was waiting for a yummy bagel/donut breakfast.
We got to run through a ribbon finish line!! Seriously everyone went all out. I think the moral of the story is the best way to run a race is with a loved/beloved woman who is having a milestone birthday :)
Janet really is such an inspiration. If I could run a half marathon on my 60th birthday, I'd be pretty impressed with myself! :)
Josh and James were teaching the kids the fundamentals of T-ball.
After the race we just relaxed and then all of the girls went to Cafe Rio for lunch-yum! Between all of that, I felt like I got really pampered and had a nice "Mommy break" It was seriously just a really fun day!
